Crytek lays off part of its staff and puts Crysis 4 on hold

Crytek joins the list of the studios that have started the year laying part of its staff. The German company has decided to shed 15% of its workforce.

Around 60 of the company's 400 employees have been made redundant, including devs and people from other departments. Crytek has also stated that it intends to focus on Hunt: Showdown 1896 for now.

"We firmly believe in the future of Crytek. With Hunt: Showdown 1896, we have a very strong gaming service and remain fully committed to its operation. We will continue to expand and evolve Hunt: Showdown 1896 with great content and drive our strategy for our engine CRYENGINE."

What's more, development of the next Crysis has been put on hold.
