Unity continues to lay off staff, firing the entire team behind Unity Behavior

Back in January 2024, Unity parted ways with 25% of its staff in an unprecedented wave of layoffs. And it seems the company responsible for the popular game engine will keep doing so this 2025.

Senior software engineer Shanee Nishry has announced on the company's forum that the team in charge of Unity Behaviour has been made redundant as a whole. This was a project aimed at designing a visual tool for creating behaviors for NPCs or in-game objects.

"Thank you for your love and support for our project. Unfortunately we were told today that our team is included in the latest round of layoffs and we will not be able to support you any longer."

"I’ve reached out to leadership to ask if they can open source the project, but there is no guarantee."

Unity has yet to issue an statement on the matter, and we don't know just how many have been affected just yet.
