Kamiya doesn't want you to play Okami on the Wii

Okami first saw the light of day back in 2006 for the PS2, but was ported to the Wii two years later. This version of the game was done by Ready at Dawn, the now-defunct studio behind the God of War PSP games and The Order 1886.

But this version for Nintendo's console was pretty hard to develop, as the American studio had no access to the source code of the game, and so had to use reverse-engineering to bring it to the Wii.

A X.com user has asked Hideki Kamiya, Okami's director, whether it would be better for him to play the game on Wii or switch to the HD PC version. Kamiya didn't mince words.

"The Wii version is not the original... It's the PS2 version... If you want to play it now, the HD version is best... Personally, I don't want you to play the Wii version..."

Kamiya is currently working on the sequel to Okami in partnership with Capcom.
