An NVIDIA RTX 5080 Founders Edition has been sent with a RTX 5090 branding

Reddit user “EssDee3D” purchased an RTX 5080 Founders Edition and was surprised to discover that the card itself was marked as an RTX 5090, although the packaging and invoice stated RTX 5080.
After verification, both Windows and GPU-Z detected an RTX 5080, confirming a labelling error. This confusion could be due to the fact that RTX 5080 and 5090 Founders Edition share the same two-slot design, with interchangeable parts. Only the cooling system differs, with the 5090 requiring more advanced thermal management.
Of course, this error does not affect the card's performance. A Reddit user humorously suggested buying it at the recommended retail price. This type of incident is rare, but has no impact on the value of the product, other than the need to explain the inconsistency in the event of resale.
