While early access has changed the way video games are launched, it's also a method that has its limits. Indeed, some titles don't receive get to the 1.0 version for several years, and others even remain abandoned while the community hopes for new features.
With the aim of being more transparent with its customers, Steam is now displaying a warning message on games that have gone too long without a single patch. For example, this will pop up when a player tries to buy a game in early access that hasn't been updated for 6, 12 or 14 months.
