Nintendo will support the Switch for as long as there's demand for it
, by Thibaut
While the first Switch will soon celebrate its eighth birthday, Nintendo has no intention of abandoning it. The Japanese company has stated once again that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends: Z-A will all be released on the console in 2025.
Furthermore, Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa says that the Switch will be supported for as long as there is consumer demand. So, yeah, it's safe to assume that the console will get more brand-new games beyond 2025 alone.
Furukawa also mentioned that Nintendo is currently working with retailers to ensure the smoothest Switch 2 launch possible. The manufacturer wants to build on its past experience to ensure it has sufficient stocks for the release.
We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date (with scalpers and others). We're getting ready."
