EA will bring more realism to its football simulators with the acquisition of TRACAB Technologies
, by Thibaut
Electronic Arts has reached an agreement to acquire TRACAB Technologies, billed as "a leader in advanced sports optical tracking and analysis solutions".
In its description, TRACAB explains that it is capable of capturing at 60 Hz almost everything that happens on a pitch, and all this while generating up to 600 million data points per match, including 65 unique data points per player and referee.
While these big numbers don't mean much at the moment, the American publisher will obviously be using this technology to make EA Sports FC even more realistic. Electronic adds that "TRACAB will bring more best-in-class capture and data technologies directly into our portfolio."
There's no word yet on whether all these technologies will be used in EA Sports FC 26, due for release next September.
