, by Thibaut
The Switch is a console at the end of its life, and this is clear as a day if you take a look at Nintendo's financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2024.
Indeed, the Japanese company has announced a further drop in sales forecasts for its hardware division, from 12.5 million units to 11 million. What's more, operating profit has also been revised down by 22% to 280 billion yen (1.745 billion euros).
In terms of performance over the previous quarter, the Switch sold 4.82 million units worldwide. Since its launch in 2017, the machine has sold 150.86 million units. Still, these sales are down 30% year-on-year, and games are also down 24%. Simply put, the investors are chomping at the bits for the Switch 2.
