Having a PSN account will become optional for many PlayStation games on PC

What used to be one of the biggest complaints of gamers will soon become a thing of the past. Sony is lifting the need to have a PlayStation Network account in order to play its games on PC.

This is the case of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (out January 30), Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, God of War Ragnarök and The Last of Us Part II Remastered (due April 3). However, logging on to PSN will grant you the following in-game rewards on these four games.

  • Marvel's Spider-Man 2: Spider-Man 2099 and Miles Morales 2099 costumes.
  • God of War Ragnarök: Black Bear armor for Kratos and a resource pack.
  • The Last of Us Part II Remastered: Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet jacket for Ellie and 50 points to unlock extras.
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered: the "brave nora" outfit for Aloy.
