Intel is testing its Nova Lake processors
, by Quentin
Intel is currently testing its next-gen Nova Lake processors. This architecture, planned after Panther Lake, won't be released until 2026. That said, a shipping note on NBD mentions a Nova Lake chip identified as a test model, probably sent from Intel's laboratories to India for further analysis. However, this shipment is said to date from early December.
Rumors point to new CPU core architectures Coyote Cove and Arctic Wolves being introduced, but those names have not been confirmeed. Nova Lake is also the only known architecture to succeed Arrow Lake on desktopts, while Panther Lake seems to target mobile. At the moment, we don't know if it will be compatible with the socket LGA-1851.
Nova Lake could be followed by Razor Lake, though no test chips for it have been spotted yet. Intel usually conducts its first silicon tests between 15 and 25 months before launch, but the sheet doesn't specify what stage of development said chip is in.
