Reflector Entertainment makes redundancies after the failure of Unknown 9
, by Thibaut
It's no surprise that Reflector Entertainment's CEO considers Unknown 9: Awakening "a commercial failure", and its consequences will surely be dire for the studio.
In a lengthy message on LinkedIn, Herve Hoerdt explains that there will be redundancies. Teams will now focus on just a single proejct, and a game in pre-production has been cancelled.
"This decision correlates directly with the failure of the studio's ambitious and courageous first project, a new IP with a rich transmedia universe. The performance of the release didn't come near the company expectations, after numerous timeline adjustments and investments, both financially and other, and didn't warrant any further exploration in this universe."
Those dismissed will get severance pay, health cover and psychological care when needed.
