The video game industry has been affected by Los Angeles fires too
, by Thibaut
Earlier this week, we reported on the fires in Los Angeles and how they had an impact on the filming of several series, including Fallout.
Alas, the situation isn't improving so far... The death toll has reached ten, and more than 130,000 hectares have been burned so far. In addition, the Californian city is home to several video game dev studios, and they also need to take care.
In a message posted on LinkedIn, Riot Games CEO A. Dylan Jadeja has addressed his teams on site. In it, he thanks the firefighters and calls on employees to be cautious.
"For Rioters reading this, please remember, the mission and the work will always be there. Right now, what matters most is taking care of yourselves and each other. It takes a village to do what we do and we are all in this moment together. For those in our offices around the world who have been reaching out, your support has been incredible — we’re reminded once again how strong a team Riot truly is."
Last but not least, Video Games Chronicle reports that Naughty Dog is putting a plan in place for devs to leave if necessary. The studio is located in Santa Monica, and the flames still don't threaten the area.
