AMD has shown FSR4 at greater detail during CES 2025

AMD has showcased the FSR4 running on the Radeon RX 9070 GPU at CES 2025. This machine learning-based technology focuses on improving image quality, mostly by reducing artifacts, ghosting and flicker effects. FSR4 will be supported by games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Hardware Unboxed's tested how FSR4 fared against FSR 3.1 in Performance mode (2x upscaling, from 1080p to 4K). It's better in handling fast-moving elements, has more accurate colors and sharper rendering of transparent elements. These translate into greater visual effects in terms of things such as confetti and character fur, as well as reduced flicker and more detailed textures.

Despite these advances, AMD has abstained from revealin any performance or latency metrics for FSR4. The demo, titled AMD Graphics Research AI-based Upscaling, didn't feature any FSR4 stamps, suggesting that further announcements may follow.
