The Jar of Sparks studio, founded by a 343 Industries veteran, may be in danger of closure

Back in 2022, Jerry Hook founded the independent studio Jar of Sparks. At the time, it was a subsidiary of the Chinese giant NetEase, and was created with the aim to work on "a new generation of narrative-based action games".
Alas, this dream has turned to be short-lived, with development on the company's first title already suspended until further notice due to a lack of funding. Hook has said on LinkedIn that his team are now free to pursue other opportunities in the industry.
While there is no question of closure for the time being, this suspension of activies and the departure of plenty of employees doesn't bode well for the studio's future.
